In a nutshell…

My name is Laura and I am a serial charity shop bargain hunter, currently living in Leigh on Sea (Essex) and working in east London for the innovative charity Community Links.  At Community Links I am responsible for communications activity around the Chain Reaction project, Community Links’ events programme and fundraising activity, and corporate partnerships & company volunteering.  I also do a bit of consultancy work with local community organisations, advising on event delivery and how to implement social media strategy.

My role within Community Links has evolved so much over the years, I’m no longer sure what my job title actually is, however I would rather like it to have the word ‘guru’ in the title.

In my spare time I volunteer with The Horses’ Mouth, and Age Concern in Southend, and am currently undertaking some training in counselling adults.  I like to experiment with frugal living, I love locally sourced produce, and I am also loosely involved in Southend in Transition.
